The island is incredibly close to the town of Jasper—just a few minutes’ drive—and I loved how easy it was to pop over before heading down the Icefields Parkway toward Banff. It felt like a peaceful little detour, giving me a chance to soak in the mountains without having to go far from town.

The walk to Pyramid Island itself is short and easy, making it a great stop for anyone passing through. I followed the trail out to the small island, and it felt like stepping into a postcard. Pyramid Mountain rises dramatically across the lake, and the calm water perfectly mirrored the peaks and sky. Parking

The parking situation was super easy and very close to Pyramid Island. I would highly recommend coming early because it fills up quickly (even in October). There were only a few spots left when I arrived, and there aren’t may spots to begin with in the immediate parking lot. If you continue down the road, there are more spots as well.

The Pyramid Island Bridge

The Pyramid Island Bridge is where you’ll perhaps get the best photos and videos while you cross it. That’s why I recommend going early when fewer people are there so you can get the bridge to yourself. I got lucky because I didn’t show up early enough as I should have:

Pyramid Island itself is pretty small, it might take 10 minutes to walk all the way around. Here are some views:

Is Pyramid Island in Jasper worth visiting? I think so! If you find yourself in Jasper National Park and need a quick activity to fill your itinerary, I highly recommend Pyramid Island. It’s very close to the town of Jasper, so no crazy drives to get here. It’s also very cool and unique to watch over the bridge to an actual island, with some beautiful surrounding mountains.

My overall score for this adventure is a 9.0 / 10. Visiting Pyramid Island is a quick win for your overall trip.
